It is always nice to have an international magazine contact you for a little work where you live. its even more fun when you get to work with not only a writer you are friends with for a long time but also get to photograph and eat in some of the cities best restaurants.
This is exactly what happened with Departures magazine last year. I was contacted by them to photograph an article on Saigon’s secluded District 2 food scene. And in the process I got to gain about 10 kilos over the course of a few days photographing and eating the food at these wonderful restaurants.
I wish all jobs were like this.
