Street Photography Saigon.
It has been a interesting few months. We officially launched the Secret Experiences photography workshop in November of 2023.
We are still building our little experience. But so far it has been fun. Smaller groups lend themselves to more personal interactions as well as a warmer welcome from the lovely people we encounter on our walk.
Saigon though is a liiiiitle different from the countryside in HoiAn and the mountainous north where I have helped run tours in the past with Pics of Asia .
Aside from the obvious traffic navigation, the consistently hotter climate, and of course.. we are in a city! That does of course lend itself to some very diverse subject matter.
Thankfully the light in the early morning coupled with the striking shadows created b the buildings make for some lovely moments. As well, unlike in the smaller fishing villages, the opportunities for unfiltered street photography are almost uncountable.
For myself, the most interesting aspect of walking the same path again and again is the people that anchor the street. You meet or see the same people every time, but they are always different in some subtle way, Shirt on one day, shirt off the next, sitting in a slightly different location from the previous visit. Selling a slightly different dish from their food stall than last time.
And on top of that the light is ever shifting and changing along with its people.
Stay tuned for more regular street photography updates right here as we get out more often.
